PREFACE

The first meeting of the Victorian Task Force was held on Thursday 18th February at CAMS Head Office. This update is specifically designed to inform you of discussions and actions arising following each meeting. It should be noted that these are not minutes of the meeting and purely an update. Below is a summary of points of discussion from the first meeting and some arising actions that are now underway or in place.

WELCOME AND INTRODUCTION

Graham Fountain welcomed the members of the task force and thanked everyone present for their time and input. Graham introduced the history of the Victorian situation and how the Taskforce was established.

TERMS OF REFERENCE

All agreed on the submitted Terms of Reference and the stages of the plan. It was agreed that any issues arising from the Victorian taskforce that may have a National impact would be shared with other states.

TIMELINES ASSOCIATED WITH SUBMISSIONS

It was agreed that an extension of time must be considered for any submissions as the meeting took a little longer to arrange. The 31st March 2010 has now been established as the appropriate closing time. The issue of anonymous submissions was discussed with the Taskforce agreeing that anonymous submissions will be considered. Submissions will also be now directed via the Sport & Club Development Council Chair in each state. Click here to see more information on the submission process.

STOCK TAKE OF ISSUES

A number of issues were raised by some members such as CAMS financial reporting, IT Project, track licence issues, Appointed Directors, CAMS management structure, etc. It was agreed that an overall aggregated template of issues be compiled for the next meeting. Norman Gowers provided a substantial list of issues that will be inserted into the final matrix.

ACTION PLAN DEVELOPMENT

The taskforce agreed on an action plan for the next meeting and also agreed to meet monthly at this stage until some matters were resolved however certain actions will be determined at the next meeting for the responsible areas.

COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGY

The taskforce agreed on a common communications plan moving forward. This will involve a separate special newscast to be emailed to all members and state councils. Any updates from the meetings will also be reflected on the CAMS website following outcomes of the Taskforce meetings.
