In light of the formation of the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission, an informal committee has been established by a group of women in Melbourne in an effort to support and promote women in the sport across Australia.

The Women in Motorsport Committee held an informal meeting in Melbourne in August and was attended by women from a range of backgrounds including rally, circuit racing, engineering, officialling, club motorsport and media/promotions.

As the FIA's delegate to the FIA WMC, Leanne Tander will act as Chairperson of the newly formed committee and is joined by the likes of Sue Evans, Samantha Reid and Amber Anderson to name but a few. The committee is currently putting together a mission statement and charter and with the assistance of CAMS, will establish a website dedicated to the promotion of women in motor sport.
